Do you only work with principals?
No — our clients include assistant principals, instructional coaches, district leadership teams, and superintendents. If you lead people in a school context, we can help. Our frameworks are built for school leadership broadly, not just the principalship.
Can you work with an entire district?
Yes. We work with individual campus leaders and with entire principal cohorts or district leadership teams. Some of our most impactful engagements have been district-wide book studies, systems design work with central office teams, and principal cohort coaching programs.
How does coaching work — in person or virtual?
Both. We offer virtual coaching that fits into your schedule and can accommodate leaders anywhere in the country. For keynotes, workshops, and intensive engagements, we come to you. We'll figure out the right format for your situation during the discovery conversation.
I'm a new principal. Is it too early to work with a consultant?
It's actually the best time. The patterns you establish in your first one to three years — how you run meetings, how you give feedback, how you build culture — tend to stick. Our Quarterly Intensive is specifically designed for principals in this window.
What does working with HLG actually cost?
It varies based on the scope, duration, and format of the engagement. We don't publish a fixed price list because every school and district has different needs. The first conversation is free, and we'll give you an honest picture of what it would take after we understand what you're working toward. We work with individual principals on personal budgets and with districts with institutional funding. We'll figure out what's realistic for your situation.
What does the free discovery call actually involve?
It's a 30-minute conversation — no pitch, no pressure. Brandon will ask about your school, your team, and what you're working through. At the end, he'll share honestly whether and how HLG could support you, and what that would look like. If it's not the right fit, he'll say so.
